Why Compliance Is the Entry Point
The European customs authority and your B2B customers demand proof of safety. Without certifications, the product will not clear customs or sell to serious distributors. Ruidi keeps them up to date per SKU.
2026 Update: we have published a deeper, importer-focused guide — CE Certifications for Mobility Scooters: Complete Guide (MDR 2017/745, how to spot fake certificates, and the 7-document checklist for your manufacturer).
CE (Marking)
Mobility scooters are assessed under the Medical Devices Directive / standard EN 12184 (powered mobility scooters). The CE marking declares conformity with European legislation. Require the EU Declaration of Conformity.
ISO 9001 and ISO 13485
- ISO 9001: the factory's quality management system.
- ISO 13485: quality management for medical devices (applicable to assistive mobility).
These standards reduce the risk of defective batches and build buyer confidence.
UN38.3 and RoHS
UN38.3 certifies lithium battery safety in transport. RoHS restricts hazardous substances in electronic components. Both are almost always required for shipments.
Documentation You Should Request
- EU Declaration of Conformity (per model).
- Accredited laboratory test reports.
- Current ISO certificates from the factory.
- MSDS and UN38.3 for the battery.
Conclusion
Do not import blindly. Review our certification center or request documentation per SKU before your first order.
